Fort Aguada & Candolim
One of the main bastions commanding the entrance into the Mandovi River was Fort Aguada. Built by the Portuguese in 1612, with a church, the new lighthouse (which can be visited during specified hours 4 to 530

pm, barracks (Aguda Jail) along the beachside (Sinquerim beach lies below the fort) - its worth visiting. Water sports, Parasailing, Jet Skis and more at the southern end of the sinquerim Beach is a perfect holiday for the adventure lovers.

Calangute and Condolim are lying at the north of Fort Aguda. The Candolim beach is much quieter in comparison to Singuerim and Calangute. Both Mapusa's location at the hub of commercial activity and its proximity to a place of religious pilgrimage have caused the Mapusa market to grow to its current size and scope.

Margao
