In contrast to a fad diet, a healthy diet plan will deliver results, but will often require unwavering dedication, lots of hard work, and ultimately, a permanent change toward healthier living patterns. For many people, this seems like too much input when a fad diet promises to deliver.

It seems like everyday there is a new diet plan. These fads sometimes come and go quickly while others stay around for years and years. There is always a new guru or doctor telling us how to lose weight quickly, or long term and coming up with some revelation that will melt the fat away.

Egg grapefruit diet

Breakfast
· Half a grapefruit (or 8 ounces grapefruit juice)
· 2 eggs any style
· 2 slices of bacon

Lunch
· Half a grapefruit (or 8 ounces grapefruit juice)
· Salad with any dressing
· Meat (any style in any amount)

Dinner
· Half a grapefruit (or 8 ounces grapefruit juice)
· Salad with dressing (or green vegetable cooked in butter)
· Meat or fish (any style, cooked any way)
· Black coffee or tea

Bedtime Snack
· 8 ounces of tomato juice (or 8 ounces of skim milk)

Rules:

1. Drink 64 ounces of water a day (eight 8 ounce glasses)

2. At any meal you may eat until you are full.

3. You must eat the minimum listed at each meal.

4. You cannot eliminate anything from the diet.

6. Cut down on coffee, it affects the insulin balance.

7. Don't eat between meals.

8.You can fry food in butter.

9.Do not eat desserts, breads, and white vegetables or sweet potatoes.

10.You may double or triple helpings of meat, salad or vegetables.

11.Eat until you are stuffed. The more you eat the more weight you will lose.

12.Stay on the diet 12 days, then stop the diet for 2 days and repeat.

Egg white diet

Egg white diet - Egg whites are very low in calories, have no fat, no cholesterol, and are loaded with protein. The egg white is less likely than the yolk to harbor dangerous salmonella, but due to the health risks that raw eggs present, consumption is highly discouraged by medical experts.

Many athletes drink raw egg concoctions, and other than being unsafe, it is not for the ' weak at stomach' individuals.
